Loli War Noise

Loli War Noise (from now on, LWN) is a supergroup hailing from Brooklyn, USA. Most precisely, from Frost's (one of the members) bedroom.

It's hard to describe their sound. The bandmembers (Abra and the forenamed Frost) claim their influences range from Incapacitants to the Yume Nikki soundtrack, including No. 305, Boris, japanese idol Toromi, anime and pantsu (japanese word for girls underwear). I would also add GG Allin and some of their previous projects (especially Satan And The Pastry Puffins and Di$$hipa$hin). To help you get an idea, I'd say LWN is like a bag full of cats, all of them fighting and scratching each others. Use the word "genres" instead of "cats", and that's LWN for you

It's not like they mix all of this variants into each of their songs tho, they are not your typical, senseless avant-garde prog wankery. While some of them songs sound like almost danceable, lo-fi punk, others are highly experimental and would probably force you to trip some balls.

From when I began to obsess about loli music... not that I would have admitted it then, but what I really liked about it was the artwork and themes that accompanied it. Anyways, bands in the genre nowadays suck at making lolimusic, primarily because they spent most of their time copying the already famous ones in the scene. We are talking about the lolicore superstars: Goreshit, Loli Ripe, the whole dqn-compilations... they have forgotten the REAL THING AND FUEL OF THE MOVEMENT: THE LOLII.

LWN is not just a band but a whole aesthetical approach to the loli phenomena. Of course the most noticeable thing is their sound, but the members are active in the whole loli antimusic scene. You can get some of the zines they have made in their gigs, and they're working on a dvd to be released soon.

Speaking of their live performances, seeing them live its a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Utterly transcendent sounds that sees staple genre instrumentation ascend beyond any sane concept of song writing or philosophy but the raise of lolis as war gear. Absolute madness, total dessecration of structures and stage etiquette. Here's where the gg allin influence is most sensible. Sure, they are not playing naked (yet), but the overall sensations of "hey, there's definitely something wrong with these guys, better not to find them in a dark alley at night with my hippie shirt and attitude, or else...". But even when they are at their most self-destructive and irresponsible of their stages, they are always producing some kind of art. Like it or not, after the first shock, you start to enjoy the general nonsense. Welcome to your new favourite US band!
